Hi everyone!

Today you get a super special SNEAK PEEK of Adam Ming and Scott Slater’s upcoming book Down the Hole! It releases on October 31, 2023, so I’m very honored and excited to give you a first look at their incredible work.

Down the Hole

We’re going to study Down the Hole through the lens of world building, with a bonus about characters at the end. World building has been on my mind since a recent review with Mallory Grigg, a Senior Art Director at Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. She encouraged me to think about worlds as an extension of the character, in terms of “stuff,” emotions, and sub-stories.

Adam did all of that in this book, and he makes world building look effortless. I asked him a bit about it, which I’ll share with you after we look at some pages, because, honestly, you shouldn’t have to wait another second to jump down the hole into this underground world!
