Hi everyone!

This is the first newsletter in a new series about commissions, and we’ll talk about getting set up for success with a Pricing Brochure. Over the course of the series, I’ll share strategies and experiences from my work with private commissions. I have completed dozens of commissions from branding icons for small businesses to wedding maps and family portraits for private clients. I have also been hired to illustrate 3 books as part of my commission process.

Commissions are a great opportunity to get paid across a variety of projects. They help me to determine what I like to do and what I’d prefer not to draw. Some people enjoy commission work, and others prefer to focus on a specific market or to keep commissions closed. Whichever way you feel is great, and the cool thing about commissions is that you can open/close them as you like and update your pricing at any point.
