Hi Andria! There will be a consistent sign up page that is updated monthly with links. Here's the first iteration of it for July: https://open.substack.com/pub/katiestack/p/summer-project-club-starts-tomorrow?r=1lcc0g&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

See you tomorrow!

This sounds fabulous Katie! Just what I need, have excitedly signed up to get involved. Thank you for creating this space. The tick box in the flower sealed the deal for me 🌱☺️✔️🌻🌿

I'm so happy you're joining!! Do you already know what you want to work on? If not, we'll brainstorm during the July 8 meeting, so don't worry ☺️

And your comment about the checkmark in the flower made me smile! ✔️😄

I'm hoping to work on refining some portfolio pieces, to update a uniform body of work to submit to agents... a dream for a long time that I have not been actioning. Hoping some friendly peer pressure will do the trick! 🙏😄✏️🌱✨

Hi Katie, What happens after summer? Does it continue?

Thanks!

How long are the live sessions? Who will comment on the work? All participants?

Each session will be about 1 to 1.5 hours. Summer Project Club is really about making time to focus on your own work, so the sessions are more “work time” than "critique and feedback." There’s a chance to share what you’re working on at the end if you want, like in Art Gym, but there won’t be specific time for comments or feedback. It’s more of a co-working group than a critique group—it's structured for people to show up, make progress, and have accountability and encouragement along the way. Hope that helps clarify things! Let me know if you have other questions.

Hi again,

I read you hope to have another one after the summer program ends. If I upgrade to annual, what will you offer after the summer program ends, for the remainder of the annual membership? Also, is there a cap on how many people can participate?

You mention the “live session.” How do you envision those happening? Will everyone get time to present their work?

Thanks a bunch!!!

Hi Robyn! Always so nice to hear from you—and great questions. 😊

Yes, I’d love to continue the Project Club seasonally, so after Summer Project Club ends, I’m hoping to run another round in the fall (October–December). But even outside of Project Club, there’s a lot included in a paid membership!

As a paid subscriber, you’ll get access to:

- My full Library of Guides + Toolkits (100+ posts, many with audio so you can listen while drawing),

- All Illoguild Live replays,

- Six Art Gym workshops (though I know you’re already in Art Gym!),

- And 3+ years of posts about book illustration, process, pricing, and more.

So even if there’s a break between Project Club seasons, there’s tons of value and resources to explore on your own.

There’s no cap on how many people can join Project Club, and the live sessions are structured to give everyone time to make progress. We’ll start with a quick drawing warm-up, then set goals and dive into work time—cameras can be on or off, and there’s a chance to check in at the end if you'd like, but it’s very relaxed and focused on progress.

Also! If you’re unsure about going annual, the monthly membership is a great way to start. You can always upgrade later since I have an option for monthly members to upgrade at a pro-rated cost within the first month.

Let me know if you have any other questions—I’m so glad you’re considering joining us this summer!
