Updates from last month:
New Book!!
I am really excited to announce that I’ve started working on my fourth book! This project is a spinoff of Goodnight Moon, and it’s a private commission all about a family’s beloved home. It’s full of heart and memories, and I’m absolutely honored to be illustrating it. There will be scenes of the house, set in the woods, with Grandma, Grandpa, and lots of dogs. It’s full of sweet moments as the sun sets and the moon rises. I cannot wait to start drawing the interior pages.
I actually began with the cover for this project, which is unusual for me. I usually prefer to do it at least half way through the book. But the family is giving their mom a print of the cover for her upcoming birthday, so it had to be done quickly. Here’s a sneak peak at the work in progress for the cover.
I’m also really excited, because I am doing this book in traditional media!
My ABCF at School has been printed 😍
I was so excited to see this video since I haven’t seen the book printed yet. Thank you, Cystic Fibrosis WA, for this beautiful video and the opportunity to illustrate this meaningful book for students and teachers to use at school.
My print collection has been shortlisted!
Remember this print collection that I shared with you last month? It has been shortlisted for a competition by the company Wallsauce! I worked hard on these, so it feels really encouraging that my collections has been selected.

MATS ICB: Illustrating Children’s Book Course
Here’s my poses page from the Illustrating Children’s Book course from Make Art That Sells. I skipped weeks 4 and 5, because I went on a sort of last minute trip with family. Sometimes it’s really hard to put aside art plans, but in however many years, it’s going to be the time with friends and family that I cherish, not weeks 4 and 5 of a class. So maybe I’ll get to those assignments later, but in the meantime, here’s my poses page!
And some of the books I couldn’t help but buy while we were away… So instead of drawing for the last two weeks of class, I did some “market research.” I think that counts!
Wedding Invitations
I’m not sure if I’ve officially announced it here, but I’m getting married in September! I have been working on our wedding invitations in secret, but now that they’ve all been sent out and received by everyone, I can post a picture of them here without spoiling anything. I created a pattern for the card and envelope as well as sketch of the city and venue on the vellum wrap. I was really proud of how they turned out, and both my fiance and I were really excited to include our pup in the invitations. Can you find him?

Character Re-design
A potential client got back to me with feedback on this beagle character. They’re looking for something more realistic, so I sent them this proposal. Hopefully more news next month— fingers crossed!
Monthly Pup-date
All the hydrangeas in our neighborhood have been absolutely gorgeous, so here’s Auggie posing with them.
That’s all for this month!
How about your month? How did all your art go? What did you create? Share in the comments!
See you later this week for the monthly

Congrats on your Book being printer, your print shortlist and the wedding cards! You always seem to get so much done each month!
