Happy November!
Welcome to any new subscribers, and to everyone else: nice to see you again!
Did you know it has been exactly one year since I started writing this monthly newsletter? Last November I sent off my first newsletter to 22 subscribers, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has hopped on the email list and followed my journey since then. So much has happened in this last year, so I’m thankful to have documented it with newsletter and to have met a community of people along the way. If you’re also feeling grateful this month, I think you’ll enjoy the freebie below!
What I have for you this month:
Christmas products!
I am SUPER excited about the holiday products that I have for you this year. I designed a line called “Happy Paw-lidays” featuring lots of dogs! It’s very exciting to branch out from greeting cards, so I hope you check out all the new products:
DIY Sticker Cards: Meet the product of the season that’s fun for adults and kids! (I’ve been super excited to launch this one 😁). The stickers have clear edges, which makes them perfect for adding to cards with cozy Christmas scenes. Not only did I have a blast making the example below, but it’s a great way to encourage kids to make cards and handwrite holiday tidings to family and friends! Can you tell I’m excited about this idea?
Sticker name tags for gifts: Not only do you get name tags, but the circular stickers are perfect for sealing envelopes!
Holiday cards: the entirely new line Happy Paw-lidays plus a bunch of other cards featuring cute animals. Check them out below!
Wrapping paper - Many of you requested wrapping paper last year. I am still waiting on a few samples, so stay tuned for the wrapping paper drop!
Commissions:
I’m working on a holiday card for a family this month, and next month I’ll be drawing a holiday card for a business (exciting!). I have one space left for 2022 Commissions, so reply to this email or sign up here if you’re interested in a custom project.
Freebie: Coloring page
November is all about being grateful, and since it’s been a year since starting this newsletter, I am feeling very grateful for all of you! I hope you enjoy this coloring page, and maybe reflect on something you’re grateful for, too :)
Updates on the past month:
October Challenges:
Hey fellow artists— how are you doing after all the October Challenges?? Take a deep breath, it’s November now! As exhausting as challenges can be, they can be really rewarding since they push you to create something unique on a time crunch. Here is my cast of trick-or-treaters from the #peachtober and #fridaydoodleclub challenges. The prompts were Cowboy, Tiger, Bow, Potion, and Trick-or-Treating Zombie Kitten. I also completed a drawing to celebrate Diwali! I would love to see and comment on some of your art from October, so let me know what you were working on.
Bear story:
Do you remember a few months ago when I told you about a bear story inspired by a National Park? Well I decided to dive back into that story and draw a spread with a forest. I think it could still use a few tweaks, but I find it’s best to leave work alone for some time before making final edits.
Portfolio Submission:
If you read my Weekly Artists Newsletter, you know that I was gearing up to send off my portfolio. I clicked “send” on Friday for an agent I would love to work with, and I have a few more to send off this week. Here’s a character sheet I updated to include the four faces on the left.
Weekly Artists Newsletters:
In case you missed any, here are the weekly newsletters from October:
Did you know you can receive the just Monthly Email, just the Weekly Emails, or both? Check your settings by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of this email.
