Hi all!

This week I’d like to share some read aloud ideas from my experience as an elementary school teacher and reading specialist.

Wait… isn’t this is a newsletter for artists? Why am I talking about reading books to kids?

Because once your books are out in the world, you’ll have illustrator visits!

You’ll get to visit schools, libraries, communities centers, etc… and it will be super fun to plan activities that match your book! And if you’ve already done illustrator visits, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what has worked well for you.

My first illustrator visit is in June for the golf book that I’ve been illustrating (eek!)

What to think about when planning your illustrator visit?

Throughout my teacher training, there were always tips and tricks being shared for read alouds, because listening to books is critical to the development of young readers!
