A recent pattern design featuring woodland animals. Today’s post will be all about bears!

Hi everyone!

Adam Ming
and I hosted the second session of Art Gym. It was a Workshop about drawing animals, and paid subscribers can find the replay here.

As you likely know, animals are so fun to draw! They can be stylized or realistic, anthropomorphic or on all fours, accessorized or in their own skin fur! The options are endless when drawing animals, especially in the world of children’s book illustration.

Just as we looked at icons in Children’s Books before last month’s Art Gym, we’ll take a look at some animals in preparation for this month’s workshop. Specifically, we’ll look at bears. Bears are such a common animal in kids books, so looking at the variety of bear illustrations on Pinterest helped me uncover some insight and inspiration about drawing animals.
