Happy October/ Spooky Season!
Welcome to any new subscribers and welcome back to everyone else! It’s been nearly a year since I started the monthly newsletter, so thank you for being here :)
This monthly newsletter includes updates about my projects and online shop. The weekly newsletters have lots of tips and discussion for artists.
What I have for you this month:
So many winter holiday products!! Think cards, stickers, wrapping paper, and maybe even washi tape! I’m getting super excited about all the products, but it’s still a little too early to share them all. Here’s a sneak peak:
And as always, the shop is stocked with for birthday cards, thank you’s, friendship cards, and more, so go check it out.
Commissions: It was a busy month for commissions, which was super exciting! I so enjoyed drawing a family portrait as an engagement gift (top), a map for a 50th wedding anniversary (middle), and custom notecards for a wedding (bottom). If you are thinking of custom gifts for the holidays, now is the time to book. Sign up here for a custom project!
Freebie: A rollerskating hippo printable card to send to friends or family! Click download in the box below to print it.
What I'm working on this month and updates on last month
Home Decor Class: It has been so inspiring to see everyone’s work for this class, and I would really enjoy delving more into this market. Below is my assignment from week 1 with tools for a charcuterie board and some coasters with tropical birds. You can see some great work for this class from Damjana Loddelina, Tabby Kat Studio, Jen Gubicza, and Brenda Harris!
This month I am working on organization. I bought a new planner specifically for “makers,” and while I wait for that to arrive, I printed out some pages to test the format. The idea is to choose “3 to-dos” for each day. I am also working on organizing the ~studio space~ at home as I gear up for more art-making time. Currently it’s overrun by boxes, packaging, and an absurd number of children’s books. Anyone else have so many kids books and claim it’s for “studying” the craft? Next month I’ll share a photo of the organized space! (If I tell you that I’m going to organize it, I have to do it, right? Thanks for holding me accountable 😂 )
Weekly Artist Newsletters: You can find all the weekly newsletters from this month here. This month I wrote about…
Working with clients
Selling your first greeting cards
And some Reels tips
Last but not least…
Thank you so much for reading!
Katie
