Hi everyone!
I got married earlier this fall! It was truly such a beautiful day. My husband and I felt so loved and celebrated, and we are still soaking up all the joyful moments from the day! I’ll share some pictures at the end if you’d like to see any :)
Since it’s been pretty busy with the wedding, I’ve been away from Substack for the last month, but I’m back now! Thank you for your patience, and if you’re a paid subscriber, I’ve comped you a free month to make up for being away. I was busy celebrating and soaking up all the love, so now I’m spreading that love to you :)
If you’re new here, welcome! Each month I write this Monthly Newsletter as a way to share and reflect about the previous month. I’ll share my updates from August and September, but what I really love is hearing what you’ve been up to. So please feel free to share in the comments.
What I have for you this month:

3 Materials Drawing Challenge (continued)
Ohh this has been so much fun!! Did you join the challenge, too? The goals were to draw every day for 50 days, but only for 30 minutes and with only 3 materials. I’ve been writing about the materials and process. Read about Week 1 and Week 2.
Here are some of my favorites from July:

And here are a few more from August/Sept:

Dog Party Pattern
I know, I know, I’ve already drawn so many dogs, BUT they’re the most fun thing to draw! Do you think this would work better as wrapping paper or as a pattern on party plates/napkins?
Our Wedding Invitation Suite
Eeek!! Look at this gorgeous photo from Rellini Art Studio of the invitations I drew and designed for our wedding! He showed me this picture while I was still getting ready, and I gasped at how pretty it was. It was so special to design these for our wedding, and I definitely took way too long perfecting every little olive leaf. But it was absolutely worth it.
And as promised, here are a few photos from our wedding. It truly felt like a fairy tale 🥰
Monthly Pup-date
I guess it’s time to accept that summer is over since there are leaves everywhere in this pup-date! When Auggie was a puppy, it was tough to take him on walks in the fall, because he tried to eat every leaf 😂
That’s all for this month!
How about your month? How did all your art go? Did you also take some time away from art or Substack?

Katie
Congratulations on the wedding! And the beautiful art! I love seeing artists share more than sketchbook pages (although I’m a sucker for a good spread). I hope your happy-giddy-inspired fase stretches as far as it can go ✨🙌🏻
Congratulations, Katie💗What a beautiful couple you and your husband are! So happy for you. I love the gorgeous stationeries you designed for your wedding. I admired all your 3 materials art challenge pieces you shared😍 They are wonderful! I hope your new season of life will be filled with joy and adventures!
