Love this idea, thank you! I've been meaning to dust off the pattern making skills for ages so this will give me some incentive. I'm doing a lot of work around coastal environments at the moment, so I'll decide between rock pools or beach combing, and say it's for an outdoor blanket (thinking rumpl blankets) ☀️

Such a great theme for a blanket! My sister works in a lab and does a lot of coastal research, so I feel particularly connected to your idea :) Can't wait to see it come together over the course of the challenge!

this is so exciting! i’ve also wanted to create patterns for a while so thank you for this prompt! I want to create a figurative pattern design for fabrics or wallpaper. As a start!

Love it! I'm doing wallpaper, too, so we can inspire each other :)

I think I've decided on a theme - I will draw STEM (Science/Tech/Eng/Maths) icons for kids gifts/wrapping paper. I'm not sure whether that works but I'm going to give it a go...

I think that definitely works! As a former teacher, I love the STEM focus. I think it's going to turn out super cute!

I’m glad you think it might work Katie!

I already have a list as long as my arm of things I’m doing/learning but this has just been added to it! This newsletter itself has so much lovely info and so much to think about… theme in progress… 💭

I'm on board Katie! I love your blue pattern on the tableware, gorgeous. Going to make some idea notes on the bus today... see what sparks excitement 🤩

I have finally decided - following along with Adam Ming's sketchbook micro lesson this week on food to create my icons for a pattern. A departure from my more nature focussed drawings, but will get plenty of veggies in there!

What a fab idea!! I haven't done a food pattern yet, so I'm adding that to my list. I can't wait to see how yours turns out 😁 Also super cool that Adam's micro lesson helped inspire this!
