I pretty much only know how to make imperfect art, so this was affirming (even tho it was also intimidating since these are soooo beautiful!). I appreciated that you shared the mediums and guided us through each piece.

Thanks, I love your newsletter. Sometimes it is harder to paint the imperfections I find. But they make such a novel experience and look more childlike, which is great for children's books. I often think I have to be more perfect, but no. Imperfectly imaginative.

This is so great, Katie! I love all of the artwork and also the encouragement to play, paint, draw, and be okay with imperfections - which end up being charming and beautiful, too.

What a wonderful idea to create a swatch board of digital brushes! I need to do that! So many amazing and interesting art pieces too – thanks for sharing <3

This was so interesting! Since starting digital illustration, I've made it my mission to try to get it to look as organic and 'tradiitonal' as possible (and still am). It's quite a tough one I'll admit. These examples are great! Thanks so much for sharing!

I loved this newsletter because I also enjoy the imperfection in illustrations and something I am working on experimenting with myself! You should look up the artist Esme Shapiro. I love her work and her imperfections in her paintings. So fun!
